Administering the PSAT 8/9 with Accommodations
If you’re administering the PSAT 8/9, remember that students testing with accommodations do not need College Board approval prior to taking the test (unless required by your state). PSAT 8/9 accommodations are approved by each student’s school.
However, students testing with accommodations may use an alternate test format, and these materials need to be ordered in advance. SSD coordinators should work with test coordinators to order necessary materials and make the proper arrangements for testing students with accommodations before test day.
Instructions
-
Choose the appropriate accommodation.
For students to get the full benefit of the PSAT 8/9, choose accommodations that best match the accommodations currently used for school or state tests.
-
Order special test formats.
Test coordinators can order special formats that best match students’ accommodations. Among others, these include: braille with raised line drawings; contracted, large-print materials; and reader's script, such as text or prerecorded audio (MP3 via streaming).
Select the appropriate formats when you place your initial order on the site. You can also add accommodated formats to your order later by clicking the Order button on your dashboard.
