Administering Exams

SSD coordinators take responsibility for requesting accommodations from College Board’s Services for Students with Disabilities and then ensuring the proper administration of exams with accommodations.

Keep in Mind

Certain College Board exams require SSD approval for accommodations.

Approval by Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) is always needed before students can take the PSAT 8/9, PSAT 10, PSAT/NMSQT, SAT, or AP Exams with accommodations.

You can manage accommodations through SSD Online.

SSD Online walks coordinators through the accommodations request process and helps them manage follow-up tasks.

Policies may differ by exam.

SSD coordinators may need to work with test coordinators to order accommodations materials and prepare for exam administrations.

FAQ

If I missed the deadline for an accommodations request, what can I do?

Submit the request as soon as possible. If the request is not decided in time for the test you are taking, you may use any approved accommodations for future College Board tests including PSAT-related assessments, the SAT, and AP Exams.

No. Accommodations for the following exams always require SSD approval: PSAT 8/9, PSAT 10, PSAT/NMSQT, SAT, AP Exams, and CLEP with remote proctoring. These tests do not require SSD approval: ACCUPLACER, and CLEP (in a test center).
